Sleeved Jerseys?

OK, maybe I'm old fashioned, but the NBA is trying to start a new trend and quite frankly I don't care for it. Jerseys with sleeves are the newest trend that the NBA is trying to sell, but I have a theory behind this...

The NBA is trying to introduce a line of new jerseys that have sleeves. I prefer the current jerseys with no sleeves, but that's just me. I do have a theory on this though. I truly believe that the NBA is trying to cover up tattoos that cover the modern day NBA player. I mean, I know that the NBA is all about maintaining professional images and having their members dressed a certain way, but adding sleeves to the jersey is not going to stop players from getting tattoos in other places.

Tattoos are essential in today's modern day America. People from all walks of life have tattoos. The NBA probably will not admit it, but I think they are trying to sell teams and their fans on this look for the sake of their image. I don't think nothing is wrong with having tons of tattoos on your body, but maybe the NBA does? I myself have some tattoos, it's art and a way of expressing myself and I'm sure players with tattoos feel the same way.

Many NBA players are not in favor of these new jerseys, but at the same time they may not have any power to stop it. The owners and executives of each team think it's a good idea, but in all honesty these jerseys with sleeves are ugly and may affect how a player plays. Trust me, we all take pride in what we wear, well most of us do in some fashion.

The players are the ones who have to wear these jerseys and if these jerseys end up taking off, well we are obviously moving toward a new time in the NBA. From short shorts to sleeves on the jersey, the NBA can evolve it's look, but adding sleeves to every jersey will just take away from the tradition that has already been in place for so long. Peace...
